Foodies will have the chance to feast on a wide variety of dishes at “accessible prices” across the island as the Bermuda Tourism Authority announced the restaurant weeks festival is to be extended to run for more than a month this year.

The twelfth such event will showcase Bermuda’s culinary delights with special price deals at more than 40 establishments, and takes place between January 19 to February 28.

Offers will be available at participating restaurants over six weeks with lunch packages starting from $25 for two courses, and three multi-course dinner menu options that run from $39 per person, although beverages are not included.

Tashae Thompson, vice-president of experiences at the BTA, said: “Bermuda restaurant weeks has been a staple on our annual calendar for over a decade.

“Restaurateurs from around the island look forward to the opportunity to highlight local ingredients and unique Bermuda flavours while presenting fresh twists on Bermuda’s culinary heritage.

“With price points starting at $39 for a multi-course experience, our partners continue to deliver accessible options for both locals and visitors.

“Our team is particularly excited to drive a campaign that reinforces our commitment to position Bermuda as a year-round destination, providing memorable culinary experiences that will add a reason for our visitors to return.”

The festival of food begins with the “lost yet found culinary experience” with Dawn Burrell a former finalist on the Bravo TV show Top Chef.

Ms Burrell, a former US Olympian in the long jump, who became a full-time chef, will fuse her African and Asian flavours with locally harvested ingredients to create a four-course meal for diners at the Harbourfront Restaurant event.

She said: “I heard about Bermuda many years ago and its mystique has had me captivated since.

“I knew that it was a destination that I had to visit, so I was thrilled to be invited to curate a menu that pairs my specialities and the island’s traditional cuisines.”

The festival’s website, www.gotobermuda.com/restaurant-weeks, goes live on January 9 with a listing of all participating restaurants and events.
