Police called to escort female AA flight passenger off plane
An allegedly “unruly” American Airlines passenger had to be escorted from a plane after it landed at LF Wade International Airport by police.
The incident, which happened on Wednesday, saw two Bermuda Police Service officers temporarily take the 52-year-old woman into custody after her American Airlines flight arrived from Charlotte, North Carolina.
The woman, who has not been named, was released following talks with the flight crew and after she was warned about her conduct.
A police spokesman said: “The Bermuda Police Service can confirm that around 2.50pm Wednesday, January, 4, 2023, two BPS officers at LF Wade International Airport responded to an alleged unruly passenger on board an arriving American Airlines flight from Charlotte, North Carolina.
“After the plane landed, the unarmed officers escorted the individual, understood to be a 52-year-old visiting American woman, off the aircraft without incident.
“She was temporarily taken into police custody, but later released following consultation with the flight crew and after being warned about her conduct by the attending officers.”
