Privacy Commissioner hosting workshops on AI and its uses
Workshops on artificial intelligence and its uses will be offered this month by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Bermuda, in conjunction with Data Privacy Week.
The office has partnered with the British company Morality and Knowledge in Artificial Intelligence to give the interactive online workshop “AI in Bermuda: Are We Ready?”
The workshop is aimed at helping businesses and other organisations to understand AI tools and how use them to become more efficient and competitive.

Data Privacy Week is a worldwide event that starts in Bermuda on January 23 with a 10am-to-11am set of activities for public, private and home-schooled students from nursery age to secondary school to learn about data privacy, digital safety and the sharing of information.
Diallo Rabain, the education minister, will give opening remarks.
On January 24, in partnership with the economic development department, the office will give a presentation on a broad range of privacy topics – along with what to expect when the Personal Information Protection Act comes into force this spring.
A seniors’ privacy tea party will be held at the Privacy Commissioner’s office at 1 Church Street, Hamilton on January 25, with seniors sharing thoughts on protecting personal information offline as well as online.
The Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club will cater the event.
The commissioner’s office will hold its interactive workshop highlighting the uses of AI on January 26. The event will be hosted by MKAI and accessible via Zoom, with participants able to to engage with international AI experts
On January 27, the office will hold an information session for charities, non-profits and non-governmental organisations on insights and best practices for privacy.
Attendees will be welcomed by Jennifer Burland-Adams, the founder of the philanthropy adviser firm Wavecrest.
