Police divert Harbour Road traffic after multiple accidents
Police diverted traffic on Harbour Road yesterday after “multiple accidents” on the road.
A police spokeswoman said that traffic delays were also expected as officers diverted motorists around the collisions.
Earlier yesterday, police said a senior was injured in a two car collision on Middle Road in Paget.
The spokeswoman said that at about 1.15pm, emergency services were sent to a reported collision near the entrance to Tanglewood Road.
“Early information suggests both vehicles were travelling in opposite directions, when an unknown motorcycle headed in a westerly direction overtook the car in the westbound lane, causing the car travelling in the eastbound lane to take evasive action and strike a wall, before colliding with the car in the westbound lane,” she said.
“A female senior citizen has been taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries not known to police at this time. No other persons involved were reported to be injured.”
The spokeswoman said that one of the vehicles was extensively damaged, which caused an obstruction in the westbound lane, causing police to divert traffic at Cobbs Hill Road and Manse Road.
Anyone who may have seen this collision is asked to call Police Constable Jason Ming on 247-1788.
