Peace walk to address antisocial behaviour
A range of organisations have joined forces to host a community peace walk in an effort to address antisocial behaviour.
Representatives from the Bermuda College, Bright Temple AME Church, Christ Church Warwick, Paget FC, Paget Primary, Purvis Primary, PHC, Rehoboth Church of God, Warwick Academy and the Warwick Workmen’s Club are set to take part in the event, which will start at the college on March 11.
An organiser said: “At that campus, a Peace Tree will be presented before walkers proceed West on South Shore Road and turn right on Southcote Road and over to Ord Road.
“Walkers will proceed West along Ord Rd and turn right on to Cobb’s Hill, ending at the grounds of the Warwick Workmen’s Club.
“Supporters of this initiative are also invited to make a special donation for those families most impacted by the current economic crisis.
“While the focus for this Saturday is on Paget/Warwick, this is an open invitation for all to join this community peace walk in promoting a sense of solidarity across the entire island.”
The participants are scheduled to set out from the Bermuda College at about 4pm.
Some light refreshment will be available at the conclusion of the walk and limited rides will be offered to those wishing to return to the Bermuda College campus.
Those who wish to make a donation can send funds online to the Friends of Christ Church Warwick Clarien Bank Bermuda account number 6000-166-404, with a note indicating the donation is for the peace walk.
