A community day at the National Museum of Bermuda has been rescheduled to take place on March 26.

The free event was postponed last month owing to inclement weather.

Activities such as archery lessons will run from 11am to 3pm.

Members of the NMB team will be stationed around Commissioner’s House to provide information on projects and exhibits.

The event is sponsored by BF&M and is free of charge to residents and visitors, with the museum open from 9am to 5pm.

A spokeswoman said: “Lisa Wingood will teach a yoga-inspired breathing and movement class open to all ages and abilities.

“Bermudian artist Ronnie Chameau will teach palmetto weaving, joined in the Queen’s Exhibition Hall by artist and educator Louisa Bermingham, who will be conducting a hands-on art activity, featuring objects from the NMB collection.

“Artist Graham Foster will be on site in Commissioner’s House at the Hall of History to share information and answer questions about his famous 1,000sq ft mural that details Bermuda’s 500 years of history in art.

“The Warwick Gombeys will close the community day with a festive air, performing in the Keep Yard at 2.30pm.”

She added: “Butterfield & Vallis are kindly providing free cold beverages and Fourways will have a free chilli station in Commissioner’s House, offering both beef and vegetarian chilli.

“Dockyard Brewing will be pouring free samples of two of their local craft beers in the Keep Yard.”

Other vendors will include Jazzy’s Treats and Paco’s Tacos.

Katie Bennett, the museum’s advancement officer, said: “We are excited to have a new date for our community day, which is made possible, thanks to BF&M’s sponsorship.

“Visit our website to see the full schedule and download the Smartify app and family activity guides ahead of your visit.

“Fingers crossed for sunny skies and we hope you join us for this fun day of activities at your national museum.”
