RA to review report on landline outage
The Regulatory Authority will review a report from Digicel on this week’s landline service outage.
An RA spokeswoman confirmed yesterday that it was aware of the island-wide outage, which happened between 12.30pm and 4pm on Monday.
She said that Digicel/BTC followed the standard outage reporting procedure shortly after the incident took place.
The spokeswoman added that the RA will review Digicel/BTC’s report on the incident and work with the telecommunications group with any follow-up recommendations.
The outage affected thousands of landlines, including emergency numbers and the Government’s main switchboard.
Emergency services, including police and the Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service, offered mobile phone numbers for the public to call until landlines were restored.
