Harbour Nights, which was to be held this evening, has been called off because poor weather.

A spokeswoman for the event said that given that the wet weather has persisted all week, there is a high likelihood of rain tonight, so an early call was made to cancel the Front Street event.

“The safety and enjoyment of our attendees and vendors are our top priorities, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused by this cancellation,” the spokeswoman said.

“We understand the time, effort and resources that our partners have dedicated to preparing for Harbour Nights, and we share in the disappointment resulting from this unforeseen turn of events.

“While the cancellation is undoubtedly disappointing, we remain committed to the success of Harbour Nights and the support of our partners, to whom we extend our heartfelt appreciation for their understanding and co-operation in this matter.”

It is hoped that the event will be held on May 31.
