Investigation launched after man’s body pulled from water
Police have launched an investigation after a man’s body was seen floating in the waters off North Shore on Saturday.
A police spokeswoman said: “Around 6.40pm on July 15, police responded to a report of a male seen floating in the waters off of North Shore, Devonshire, in the area of Empire Grocery.
“Three officers entered the water to retrieve the man and immediately commenced life-saving efforts.
“EMTs arrived a short time later and continued life saving efforts, while transporting the man to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. Unfortunately, he was later pronounced dead.”
An investigation surrounding the circumstances of the man’s death has commenced.
The spokeswoman added: “We are asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time and seen a man near or in the water, to contact police on 211 or 295-0011.”
Police said no further information would be given until the next of kin has been notified.
