The Coalition for the Protection of Children has added to tributes for Martha Dismont after her death last week.

The social worker and counsellor, who founded Family Centre, passed away at the age of 66.
Ms Hunt said: “Our sincerest condolences go out to the Dismont family.
“We are sincerely grateful to have had the privilege of knowing and working alongside this pillar of the community.
“Martha tirelessly demonstrated that people and healthy relationships are the most important investment we can make in our lifetime.
“Her drive, wisdom and presence will continue to inspire us all and Bermuda will remain positively impacted by her efforts.
“While we are saddened by her passing, the positive significance of gaining this Bermuda hero, is not lost.”
Jason Hayward, the Minister of Economy and Labour, also praised Ms Dismont’s legacy.
He said: “I join the family of Martha Dismont and many others across the island in mourning the loss of this stalwart of our community for her enormous and everlasting contribution to advancing the lives of others and improving our society.
“As a member of the Wage Commission, Martha’s dedication and commitment to introducing the minimum and living wage rates were instrumental to the process which helped bring about Bermuda's first ever minimum wage rate on June 1, 2023.
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to Martha's family, loved ones and friends and thank you all for the gift of this extraordinary woman into our lives.
“She will be missed, but rest assured, the history of her life and its impact on the fabric of our society will endure for ever in our hearts and minds.”
