She added that the corporation’s City Hall and Laffan Street offices will close on Wednesday at 1pm, also as a result of the holiday, and will reopen on August 7.

Trash for city residents will be collected as normal on Wednesday and the last collection for businesses, bars and restaurants will be at 5pm that day.

Garbage from businesses, bars and restaurants will also be picked up on Saturday, August 5 and the normal schedule will resume for everyone within the City on August 7.

The spokeswoman added: “All garbage should be placed on the sidewalks or designated garbage areas by the times indicated in the refuse collection schedule.

“Please do not place garbage out for collection unless a collection is scheduled for that day.”
