Customers of telecoms company One Communications went without internet service for more than an hour early this evening.

The island-wide outage affected thousands of customers. But engineers were able to quickly resolve the problem, and service was soon restored.

A company spokeswoman said: “We experienced an internet outage this evening, however our technical team worked quickly to resolve the issue.

“We understand the seriousness of outages and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

“We thank our customers for their patience and understanding.”
