Bermuda National Gallery offers fashion drawing course
The Bermuda National Museum is offering fashion illustration classes taught by Lyn Winford next month.
Ms Winford, a Bermudian, will teach participants how to draw nine-head croquis — fashion figures — from various angles.
The classes will run from 5.30pm to 7.30pm from September 6 to 27.
During the four-week course, students will learn to build colour, depict fabrics and illustrate textures on paper.
Ms Winford’s skills as a multi-disciplinary artist of visual branding, illustration and fashion design will guide this programme.
Ms Winford is the founder of Bermudian atelier Billow & Luft and the co-founder of Pixie Grotto Studio.
She studied in Florence, Italy, and at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York before becoming creative director of the 35th America’s Cup and SailGP.
Through internships, she has worked with Ralph Lauren, Badgley Mischka and Elie Tahari.
With her experience, Ms Winford will conclude the class with the students creating their final piece with techniques learnt throughout the course.
Classes will be held in the gallery for four weeks and cost $150 for BNG members and $200 for non-members. They are open to anyone 15 or older.
Participants must supply their materials; a suggested material list will be provided. BNG members receive a 10 per cent discount at the Stationery Store.
