Waste collection will be pushed back by a day next week as the island celebrates labour Day on Monday.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Public Works said: “Monday's waste collections will roll over to Tuesday with this schedule continuing through the week ending with Friday's waste being collected on Saturday.

“Tin, aluminium and glass recycling will be unaffected by Monday's holiday, with West End recycling collected on September 7 and East End recyclables collected on September 8.

“The Tynes Bay Public Drop-Off will be open for drivers of private cars, L and LP vehicles to dispose of a maximum of four bags of regular waste and other waste items from 9am to noon on Monday.”

Visit the Government’s garbage and recycling page, www.gov.bm/garbage-and-recycling, for more waste management information.
