Kaleidoscope to hold first fundraiser since 2020
People can buy works from professional and amateur local artists at an event on Saturday and help to raise money for charity.
The event, Simple Acts, Big Impact, is the Kaleidoscope Arts Foundation’s first fund-raiser since 2020 and will feature food, cocktails and music by Mia Page and James Gregory.
More than 18,000 students have participated in Kaleidoscope Arts Foundation’s various programmes and summer camps since it was formed 17 years ago.
Art by KAF students will be displayed with pieces from some of the industry’s biggest names, including David Hockney, Bridget Riley and Frank Stella, at the fundraiser.
Some pieces will be for sale and work from artists such as Louisa Bermingham, Charles Zuill, Abi Box, Graham Foster and Gerdhai Hassell will be available through a silent auction.
Calling the exhibit a “testament to the endless imagination and creativity of the next generation”, Fiona Rodriguez, the foundation’s founder and executive director, said: “A reminder that even in the smallest hands, art has the power to inspire and transform; we are really excited about what is set to be a magical evening to showcase our work alongside such great modern artists.”
Heather Kitson-Smale, chair of the charity’s board of trustees, said: “The canvases come alive with heart and soul, as talented artists have graciously donated their work in strong support of the KAF family.”
Tickets include a complimentary family membership to the Bermuda National Gallery and cost $100 for individual adults, $25 for children and $200 for families (two adults and up to two children) and can be bought at ptix.bm.
The event is at the Bermuda National Gallery on Saturday from 6pm until 9pm.
