Public’s views sought on revival of Admiralty House
Residents have been called upon by Age Concern to share their views on its refurbishment of historic Admiralty House under a public-private partnership announced this month with the Ministry of Public Works.
An online survey is live and open to residents through November 30.
Admiralty House in Pembroke was once held by the Royal Navy and home to British admirals and staff, but has fallen into disrepair.
Tanya Bule, the chairman of Age Concern, said community engagement would be “significant, transparent and all-inclusive” in collecting opinions, suggestions and views on the future use of the property.
“As previously mentioned, it is important to note that even though Age Concern’s mission is to enhance the quality of life and promote the rights and opportunities of older adults in Bermuda, the end result of this development must be one that provides sustainable benefit to all residents of Bermuda.”
She asked for residents to take care in using the correct link to the survey, which is run by Narrative Research and available on the Age Concern website.
The polling firm can be contacted at surveys@narrativeresearch.bm.
Ms Bule said Age Concern will hold a virtual town hall meeting on November 9 at 6.30pm and an in-person town hall meeting on November 14, also at 6.30pm, at a location to be announced in West Pembroke.
The Admiralty House ballroom is a Grade II-listed property within an extensive national park in Spanish Point.
