Action group to hold free giveaway at City Hall

The community action group Grateful Bread is to host a free giveaway tomorrow of items ranging from used clothing to toys.

A spokeswoman said: “The Grateful Bread is excited to be hosting our biannual Big Free Giveaway of loads of good-quality clothes and household items, toys, bedding, toiletries and other amazing stuff to those in need.

“Please come to City Hall to take away stuff that will make you happy. We have an amazing bunch of volunteers coming to help you find what you need and to show that we love and care about everyone in need and want to help.”

She added: “The Grateful Bread is not a registered charity, and we do not solicit or receive funds. We rally our supporters to purchase or donate items for others and to donate funds to other registered charities with whom we collaborate to support great causes.”

To help with the event, from 1pm to 5pm at City Hall, the group is also asking for volunteers, in particular from noon to 2pm and 4pm to 5pm. E-mail gratefulbda@gmail.com for details.

The rain date is November 18, and a call on the weather will be made by 10am tomorrow.
