Bittrex Global Bermuda CEO called to Bermuda Bar
A British solicitor who moved to Bermuda has been called to the Bermuda Bar.
Oliver Linch, 35, was welcomed into the Bermuda legal circle yesterday after completing two years of training at Carey Olsen.
Mr Linch, originally from London, said that the move had been long and that he hoped to settle well in Bermuda.
He added: “London is a wonderful place. I had the privilege of growing up there and calling it my first home, and I hope one day to feel as at home in Bermuda as I did in the UK.”
Mr Linch worked in several British offices for about ten years as a financial regulatory lawyer.
He specialised in offering legal advice to banks, brokers and companies operating in the financial market before moving to Bermuda two years ago.
Mr Linch said that the most captivating part of Bermuda for him was the culture.
He explained that it is a blend of different lifestyles that are equally represented while still creating a unique way of life.
Mr Linch added: “It’s been a really enjoyable part of my career being able to have formed part of that community and to having weeks, months, years and decades to contribute to that environment.”
He has a background in digital asset management and has shared his wealth of knowledge with Carey Olsen during his pupillage.
Mr Linch now works as the chief executive officer and general counsel of Bittrex Global Bermuda, a cryptocurrency exchange company.
He said that his new position provided “an exciting moment” as Bermuda continues to explore the digital asset sector.
Mr Linch said: “Bittrex Global is really proud to be regulated here, and I’m really proud to be a part of it.”
