Minister hears community club presentations
Owen Darrell, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, took part in a community forum hosted by the Harrington Workmen’s Club.
Last week, representatives from the club, St Mark’s Church, Harrington Sound School, and other groups gave presentations on their respective community initiatives and shared ideas on how increased sharing of resources and collaboration could be achieved.
The minister said: “As the minister responsible for parish councils and a member of the club, I found the meeting to be informative and encouraging.
“The attendees are very passionate about giving back to the community and that was evident in the energy and excitement during the forum.
“Grassroots programmes are essential to the wellbeing of our neighbourhoods and communities and even though the work that takes place behind the scenes is not always acknowledged, I want to reiterate my thanks and support.”
