East End session to focus on food safety for businesses
Owners, operators and managers of food establishments in St George’s and Hamilton Parish are invited to take part in an event organised by the Ministry of Health.
The Food Safety Conference 2023: Managers Edition will be held tomorrow to offer businesses insight and assistance so they can exceed public health requirements during annual licensing inspections.
Natalie Blake, an environmental health officer, said: “We understand the critical role that food establishment managers play in safeguarding public health.
“This conference serves as a dedicated platform to equip them with the necessary knowledge and resources to maintain the highest standards of food safety.
“We are pleased with the number of registrations we have received so far from our invitations, however, we urge those who have not yet responded and want to attend, please register today.”
The conference will be held at the Penno’s Wharf Cruise Ship Terminal and is to cover matters related to the areas assessed during licensing inspections.
Kim Wilson, the Minister of Health, added: “Food safety is critical in restaurants to prevent the spread of food-borne illnesses, safeguard public health and maintain the trust and reputation of the establishment.
“I strongly urge owners, operators, and managers in St George's and Hamilton Parish to participate in this vital conference.
“The experience will undoubtedly be beneficial for you, your business, and your patrons.”
Anyone who would like to attend should e-mail Ms Blake at nblake@gov.bm or call 703-9404 today.
