Brushing up and up at Tynes Bay

A high-rise job at the Tynes Bay Incinerator had workmen giving a fresh coat of paint to the giant tower overlooking the North Shore. The sky-high job on the tower, which soars to nearly 250ft, required staff to ascend in a special cage. The waste-treatment plant has been earmarked for a $150 million long-term refurbishment plan.
