Five appointed to Masterworks board

Wayne Caines, Kevin Dallas, Mandy Cawthorn Argenio, Flora Goodall and Gabriela Brunner are the newest members of the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Arts board of directors.

Risa Hunter, the museum’s executive director, said: “I am delighted to have welcomed the five new board members over the past several months, whose variety of skills and experiences across the fields of creative industries, philanthropy, education, marketing and management will advance our goal of building a more creative and connected island through exposure to the arts.

“Although each individual reflects a diversity of background. They all share a deep commitment to artistic expression and supporting Bermuda’s dynamic and vibrant community.

“I am very thankful to them and all of our board members for dedicating their time and sharing their passion to strengthen our Museum.”

The newest members of Masterworks Museum’s board of directors

Wayne Caines, Progressive Labour Party MP for Devonshire North West, is president of Liberty Group, chair of the Bermuda Tourism Authority and former Minister of National Security, who believes creativity can strengthen society

Kevin Dallas, head of marketing and communications at Butterfield Group, is the former chief executive of BTA and hopes Masterworks will be a catalyst for the Bermuda community

Art collector and museum patron Mandy Cawthorn Argenio worked at galleries in New York and Milan, as well as for several non-profit organisations

Flora Goodall has more than 20 years of experience in the arts and believes galleries and museums can foster important community connections

Fine artist and designer Gabriela Brunner shares her passion and knowledge of art with children and adults

Tom Butterfield, founder of Masterworks, added: “We are truly grateful for the new board members and their participation.

“One of life’s great satisfactions is finding those happy to join and give to the community. It is humbling and so greatly appreciated.

“We trust that their time with us will be equally as rewarding for them, as it is for us.”
