Ag Show set to take place in third week of April
The Department of Parks has confirmed that the 81st Agricultural Exhibition is to go ahead in April.
The popular event, also known as the Ag Show, is due to take place at the Botanical Gardens from April 18 to 20, a week earlier than last year.
Last year’s event had to be held in the last week of April owing to the responsibility for the event unexpectedly returning to the Government for the first time in many years.
Lieutenant-Colonel David Burch, the Minister of Public Works, said: "I am proud of the success achieved at last year's Agricultural Exhibition despite the unexpected circumstances that surrounded its organisation.
"The dedication and hard work of all involved, from vendors to farmers, were important in making it a success for our community.
"Their support ensured that even with limited time and resources, we could deliver a positive experience for all attendees.
"This year, I encourage families across Bermuda to unite again and support the annual Agricultural Exhibition.
"With a budget allocation of $150,000 for the 2023-24 fiscal year, we are committed to restoring the full-scale, traditional showcase that our community has come to appreciate over the years.
"I extend my appreciation to all the exhibitors, farmers, vendors and individuals who contributed to the success of last year's event. Your dedication and enthusiasm have set the stage for an even more successful Agricultural Exhibition this year."
Guests can expect a wide range of displays, including school exhibits, floral showcases, engaging animal exhibits, equestrian events, entertainment and an array of local food stalls.
A parks spokesman said: “The Department of Parks hopes that the early announcement of this year's Agricultural Exhibition dates will assist families in planning ahead to ensure a memorable experience for children and everyone in the community.”
