Bermuda photographed from International Space Station

The International Space Station passed over Bermuda on Thursday.

A video on social media showed the island as seen from the orbiter 250 miles above Earth. It was taken at about 2.28pm Atlantic Standard Time.

A photograph of Bermuda was taken from the ISS during Expedition 17 in 2008, and Chris Hadfield, the first Canadian to command the station, posted another photo of the island on Twitter in 2013.

Five space agencies from 15 countries operate the ISS, which has been continuously occupied since November 2000.

It is 109 metres long, travels at more than eight kilometres per second — orbiting the earth about every 90 minutes — and features six bedrooms, two bathrooms and a gym.
