Chancery Lane in Hamilton has been closed to pedestrians as construction gets under way at the Brookfield Place site on Front Street.
The City of Hamilton made the announcement as contractors get to work at 91 Front Street.
Access to Ruby Murry’s restaurant and adjacent businesses will be from the Reid Street entrance only during demolition, when the lane will be sectioned off.
The site will be fenced off, with signs at either entrance to the lane.
The city is installing a temporary crossing over Front Street at the western edge of the construction site.
The construction firm will help with retail deliveries from the Front Street entrance of Chancery Lane to businesses along the thoroughfare.
