Residents invited to become police constables
Policing are calling on would-be officers to step up to the role of constable.
The drive is open to community-minded residents seeking a career in law enforcement, with a desire to help make the island safer.
The Bermuda Police Service are looking for candidates who would be aged between 19 and 49 at the start of their contract and who are in good physical and mental health.
Applicants must also hold a Bermuda School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
The job is open to non-Bermudian resident work-permit holders, or their spouses who are permitted to seek employment in Bermuda.
Candidates must pass a series of evaluations to be considered for the Recruit Foundation Course, starting with the police service initial recruitment test and the job-related fitness test.
They must pass security checks and suitability testing, as well as psychological evaluations and medical exams, including a body mass index assessment.
Candidates will then go before an assessment board.
The RFC, which lasts six months, includes on-the-job training, academic modules, coursework, exams and practical exercises.
Academic learning coincides with serving as a student police officer, including frontline police duties.
Applications must be submitted online via the government careers site, with a deadline of February 21.
Hard-copy applications will not be accepted.
