Science fair to showcase students’ projects
The public is invited to the Bermuda Institute’s Science Fair this week.
Diallo Rabain, the Minister of Education, is an invited guest at the event, which takes place at the school on Thursday, from 5.30pm.
The fair is an exhibition of the students’ projects to recognise their work and to stimulate interest in science. It will feature science projects, demonstrations and presentations.
A spokeswoman for the Bermuda Institute said: “Bermuda Institute science department has held the science fair annually since 2009 as a way of highlighting the achievements of its students in the form of various projects and a means of emphasising the integration of ‘faith and learning’.
“It is our hope that this will motivate students to continue to develop a higher standard of learning.
"This event serves also to heighten within the surrounding community and among our parents an awareness of the high quality of teaching and learning that takes place at Bermuda Institute.
“We are inviting the public to come out and support.”
The school said the science fair is used as “a chance for students to explore a desired aspect of science further, using the scientific method and express skills and concepts learnt in other disciplines in a creative manner”.
This will be the first science fair the Bermuda Institute has held since the Covid-19 pandemic.
