Pembroke Canal maintenance RFP issued
The Ministry of Public Works has put out a request for proposal for maintenance work at the Pembroke Canal outfall near Mill Creek Road.
According to a notice published on the Government’s procurement website yesterday, the ministry was seeking a contractor to “perform cleaning, maintenance and improvements to the outfall structure at Pembroke Canal”.
Documents included within the RFP said the contractor would be expected to remove and clean grating, a flap gate and hardware, replacing equipment and pressure-washing interior surfaces of the outfall.
The project will also include improvements to the outfall, such as an extension of a trash screen panel, and the instillation of water level sticks at three locations.
The documents add that the contractor may also be required to make repairs to concrete at the site depending on its condition.
Interested contractors would be required to demonstrate that they had the capability to safely lock and dewater the work area and bring enough pumping power to bypass the outfall while work is under way.
The submission deadline for the RFP is 3pm on March 14, with an anticipated execution of agreement by April 8.
