Kite enthusiasts can explore their creative skills and win a prize in the Stationery Store’s kite-making competition, which started yesterday.

The store said that the competition is open to all ages, and the winner of the most creative traditional Bermuda kite, made with supplies bought from the store, will receive a $100 gift card. The competition closes at 4pm on March 21.

“Kite flying on Good Friday is a cherished tradition in Bermuda, symbolising the joy of springtime and the unity of the community,” Janee Pitt, customer experience manager at the Stationery Store, said.

“At the Stationery Store, we’re thrilled to provide a platform for people to not only celebrate this tradition but also express their creativity through kite-making.

“It’s a wonderful way to connect with our cultural heritage while having a blast with family and friends.”

For a chance to win, kite makers, including first-time flyers, must purchase materials for their kites from the Stationery Store.

Photographs of the receipt of purchase of materials from the store and the kite should be sent to the store via Instagram @stationerystorebda. Entries can also be submitted via e-mail at jpitt@stationerystore.bda.

The store said that the kite with the most likes on Instagram by March 28 will receive a $100 gift card.
