OneComm volunteers prepare food for the vulnerable

Volunteers from One Communications help out in the kitchen for Meals on Wheels (Photograph supplied)

Staff at One Communications rolled up their sleeves to help prepare nutritious meals for the elderly and individuals with disabilities.

Throughout the month of February, they prepared and packed the food for delivery around the island.

Niall Sheehy, the One Communications chief executive, said: “We firmly believe in the power of community and the importance of lending a helping hand to those in need.

“Our involvement with Meals on Wheels reflects our commitment to making a meaningful impact and inspiring positive change within our community.

“Thank you to Meals on Wheels for having us and allowing us the opportunity to give back.”

As a “community-driven organisation”, the company said it prioritised initiatives that directly benefited the community. It said partnering with Meals on Wheels enabled it to address critical issues, such as food insecurity and social isolation among vulnerable populations.

Meals on Wheels delivers nutritious meals to seniors, disabled individuals and people with mobility issues who are unable to prepare meals for themselves.

Anyone interested in volunteering at Meals on Wheels should fill out a volunteer application form online or contact Miriam Maccoy, volunteer co-ordinator, at mowvolunteers@logic.bm.
