Two virtual town hall meetings concerning draft plans for the City of Hamilton are to be held, the Department of Planning has announced.

The events dealing with the Draft City of Hamilton Plan 2024 will be streamed over social media and the Government’s CITV channel to discuss the development of the City’s infrastructure.

Vance Campbell, the Minister for the Cabinet Office, reminded the public that the town hall was “a convenient and great way for the public to learn and have their questions answered”.

He added: "The Draft City of Hamilton Plan 2024 is available online, and I urge everyone to read the document and supporting information in preparation for joining one or both town hall meetings.

“When making decisions that impact the future of our country, the public's participation, insight and contributions are a highly valued and crucial part of the process."

The town hall is the second stage of the plan-making process, after consultation took place for the City of Hamilton Plan 2023 (Consultative Draft) last year.

The discussion will include Victoria Cordeiro, the director of the Department of Planning, Kenny Campbell, the acting senior planner, and Tamsyn Doran, a government planner.

It will be moderated by Michael Brangman, a government communications officer.

The virtual town halls will take place on Thursday from noon to 1pm and on April 11 from 1pm to 2pm.

They will be streamed live on YouTube and Facebook, as well as on CITV.

The public is encouraged to submit questions in the comments section of the government’s Facebook page during the stream, or before the stream by e-mailing askus@gov.bm.
