Governor picks Easter lilies fit for the King
The Governor kept up an annual tradition this week of picking Easter lilies to be sent as a gift to the King.
Rena Lalgie and her husband, Jacob Hawkins, selected flowers grown at Pacheco and Sons Farms.
The blooms were put on a British Airways flight yesterday to reach Windsor Castle as a gift for King Charles III and Queen Camilla in time for Good Friday.

Easter lilies has been grown in Bermuda since the 1850s when the flower was said to have been introduced to the island from Japan.
Cultivation of the flowers was one of the island’s primary industries and a thriving export market existed in the United States.
Today the lilies are grown primarily for local sales.
