Bermuda Weather Service seeks to appoint new director
The Bermuda Airport Authority is searching for a director to head the Bermuda Weather Service.
The authority is advertising the role and said the successful applicant “will be accountable for the development and delivery of meteorological and aeronautical information products and services in accordance with the authority’s strategic objectives”.
The position had been held by Michelle Pitcher since February 2023. Ms Pitcher took over from Mark Guishard, who is now the chief operating officer of the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences.
The airport authority is responsible for providing essential air navigation services at LF Wade International Airport, including weather information.
As well as leading the overall management of the Bermuda Weather Service team, the director is responsible for managing the service’s budget and is the lead point of contact for the island’s National Meteorological and Hydrological Service.
Shortlisted applicants will go through a “detailed security vetting process”.
The deadline for applications is April 22.
