Piped water service has been temporarily halted in parts of three parishes as the Water and Sewage Section carries out maintenance work.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Public Works said: “This temporary service disruption is necessary to maintain plant equipment.”

The interruption started at 4.30pm yesterday and it is expected that the service will be restored by this afternoon.

The service interruption will affect homes in parts of Devonshire, Smith’s and Hamilton Parish.

The spokesman added: “The Ministry understands the inconvenience this may cause and is working diligently to ensure the restoration of services as swiftly and safely as possible.

“If customers residing in the affected areas require top-up water urgently, they should contact a water trucking company for assistance.

“Customers are encouraged to contact the Water and Sewage Section at 278-0570 for additional inquiries or concerns.

“The patience and understanding of all affected residents and businesses will be appreciated as crews perform these essential maintenance works to continue providing the community with regular water services.”
