Last weekend’s Agricultural Exhibition at the Botanical Gardens attracted thousands of visitors, with the largest turnout recorded on Friday, the Ministry of Public Works said today.

The ministry said the turnout at the 83rd edition of the annual event “reflects its status as a cornerstone event that brings together the community to celebrate agriculture and craftsmanship in Bermuda”.

On Thursday, 1,004 adults and 1,042 children/seniors attended the opening day of the exhibition.

On Friday, 2,540 adults and 3,342 children/seniors showed up at the event, while on Saturday, 2,291 adults and 1,103 children/seniors attended.

Michael Weeks, the acting Minister of Public Works said: “As we reflect on the success of this year's Agricultural Exhibition, we are reminded of the traditions and culture that define our community.”

The ministry expressed appreciation to everyone who took part in the event including participating vendors.

It said: “The event's success was made possible not only by the attendees but also by the invaluable contributions of the volunteers. Thanks to the Department of Parks for their organisation and effort in hosting this cherished event.”
