Butterfield Bank donates AC equipment to college
Butterfield Bank has donated nearly 200 controllers and thermostats used in air-conditioning units to Bermuda College.
The donation is worth approximately $20,000 and extends the life span of the college’s heating, ventilating and air-conditioning hardware by several years.
Cleun Gaiton, facilities and security manager at Bermuda College, said: “First and foremost, we are deeply grateful to Butterfield for this generous and helpful donation. It does indeed give us a lifeline with our HVAC systems and buys us a little more time while we strategise our capital projects for the future.
“This gesture epitomises the value of corporate goodwill.”
John Goddard, Butterfield’s head of security and facilities in Bermuda, added: “Butterfield was pleased to be able to help out Bermuda College and to support their facilities team.
“If we can, and it is appropriate to do so, we would always prefer to recycle any equipment that is being replaced as our first approach, and on this occasion it has worked out well.”
