Minister promotes Bermuda sports on Boston radio show
Bermuda was promoted as a year-round golf destination that hosts world-class sporting events when the tourism minister featured on a radio talk show broadcast in Boston and greater New England.
The Greg Hill Show aired live from the Grotto Bay Beach Resort and Spa.
Owen Darrell, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, spoke to Mr Hill, a Boston radio personality, as well as co-hosts Jermaine Wiggins and Courtney Cox.
He also took part in The Greg Hill Classic golf event at the Tucker’s Point Golf Club.
During his interview, Mr Darrell said: “Bermuda is built on hospitality. We are proud of the uniqueness of our heritage.
“We boast an array of cultural and sporting events which are all aimed at enticing visitors to our shores.
“Bermuda boasts a temperate, pleasant year-round climate, it’s easily accessible with direct service and proximity to the tri-state area and it allows guests to leave in the morning and book an afternoon tee time.”
Mr Darrell said Bermuda and Boston have built a strong connection with close partnerships in healthcare and tourism.
He also highlighted that the island has a number of exciting events planned including Bermuda Day, Bermuda Heroes Weekend and Bermuda Carnival, Cup Match, and the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.
Mr Darrell added: “We continue our mission to attract visitors to our shores to experience quality sport and cultural events in Bermuda.
“I was grateful to be invited to The Greg Hill Classic golf event this week at the Tucker’s Point Golf Club to share our wonderful island home.
“I encourage New England visitors to discover all we have to offer.”
