Man injured in Southampton motorcycle crash

A man was taken to hospital last night after a serious motorcycle crash near Five Star Island.
A police spokeswoman said that at about 10.10pm, emergency services received a report of a single vehicle collision on Middle Road in Southampton, near the junction with Tribe Road No 3.
“The male rider has been transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries,” the spokeswoman said.
“Anyone who may have witnessed this, collision and have not yet spoke with police are urged to call 211 at the earliest opportunity.”
Traffic diversions were put in place at Church Road and Lighthouse Road, while police officers processed the scene.
