Charity’s work ‘resonates’ with reinsurance staff
A reinsurance company continued its support of a charity that helps patients with bills and overseas medical costs.
Wilton Reinsurance Bermuda donated $7,500 to the Lady Cubitt Compassionate Association.
A spokeswoman for the company said: “The LCCA has an important mission to improve the quality of life, health and wellbeing of those in our community who are in medical, financial or emotional need.”
She added that the support provided by the charity was “life-saving for people without any other options for medical care”.
Sylvia Oliveira, the chief executive of Wilton Re Bermuda, said: “The LCCA has had a past personal connection with members of our Wilton Re family.
“We are proud to continue our support for this important charity and acknowledge their steadfast community assistance for almost a century.”
Marisa Nearon Howard, the LCCA executive director, added: “For over 90 years the LCCA has been able to carry out its mission thanks to the support of generous donors like Wilton Re.
“They have recognised that helping those in need with the very basics of needs is first and foremost in the work we do every day. And we certainly cannot provide that help without support like theirs.”
Brendan Kemp, Wilton Re’s chief financial officer said: “Lady Cubitt Compassionate Association’s mission resonates with our Bermuda team — compassionate support when people need the help the most.
“Our firm is proud to partner in our community outreach with such an esteemed organisation as the LCCA.”
