A brunch organised by Love is Love BDA raised more than $2,000 this month for a college bursary scheme.

The fundraiser, held at Bolero Brasserie on June 2, raised $1,700 in raffle sales and donations, with another $500 from bar sales to benefit OutBermuda’s 2024 education bursary.

So far this year, Love is Love has raised $4,700 for the bursary scheme, almost half of the group’s $10,000 goal.

OutBermuda’s education bursary committee said: “We would like to thank Love is Love BDA for the generous donation from this event that will benefit the recipient of our 2024 Education Bursary.

“Our team at OutBermuda greatly supports these event collaborations with Love is Love BDA and especially appreciate Chris Douglas and his team for hosting these initiatives to help raise funds on our behalf.”

Love is Love BDA will hold another brunch on August 25 as a pre-Bermuda Pride event and also, in partnership with Island Restaurant Group, an Oktoberfest daytime family fundraising event on September 29.
