Viral video shows minibuses being driven recklessly

Police are appealing for witnesses (File photograph)

Police said yesterday they were investigating video footage of two minibuses being driven dangerously.

A video recording circulated on social media showed the vehicles being driven recklessly and at high speed.

Police appealed to anyone with information about the incident to contact them at the earliest opportunity.

A spokeswoman for the Bermuda Police Service said: “Dangerous or reckless driving is unacceptable under any circumstance.

“However, the size of these vehicles and the manner in which they were being driven created an increased risk of collision, as well as the potential to cause serious injury or worse, to passengers and other road users.”

She added: “The BPS take these incidents seriously and we are investigating the matter.

“As part of our inquiries, we need to establish a timeline of when this footage was recorded.

“In light of numerous recent complaints regarding minibuses, the BPS will be paying particular attention to the operation of minibuses and any offences will be dealt with accordingly.

“The BPS will also liaise with the Transport Control Department regarding these matters.”

Police asked anyone with information about the incident or the recording to call police on 211.
