Mariners urged to use caution during Comet race

Mariners are urged to look out for Comet racers on Monday (Photograph supplied)

Mariners were urged to use caution on waters around the island when a boat race takes place on Monday.

A notice from the Department of Marine and Ports Services said the Long Distance Comet Sailboat Race between St George’s and Somerset will begin at the East End Mini Yacht Club at 11am.

Comets will head along the north shore and finish at West End Sailboat Club in Sandys about three hours later.

Mariners were asked to give adequate clearance and create minimal wake when near the racing boats.
