Bermudians honoured for Coronation assistance

Civilians who took part in events related to the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla were honoured in a medal ceremony this week.

Rena Lalgie, the Governor, awarded several groups for their assistance during the Coronation Ceremony in London.

The Scouts worked alongside police on the south side of Buckingham Palace, where they helped with crowd control.

Nea Talbot, the Government’s Director of Communications, and Marc Telemaque, the Secretary to the Cabinet, were rewarded for organising the Bermuda Coronation event, while the Right Reverend Nicholas Dill and Jennie Foster-Skelton were honoured for their thanksgiving service.

Joanne Brangman, Jeannaire Christopher-Peters, Catherine Hay and Nina Jacobs also received medals for their help with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority’s Children’s Reading Festival.

Bermuda Scouts Joshua Blee, Seth Malpas, Bradley Stewart and Melissa Weekes were commended for their assistance.

The Department of Parks and the Bermuda Zoological Society were also honoured.
