Repairs to City Hall foyer ceiling completed
Updated: Jun 20, 2024 04:55 PM
The Corporation of Hamilton has completed repairs to the foyer ceiling at City Hall.
A spokeswoman said the foyer was painted and ceiling replaced after engineering firm Mason and Associates advised the City to carry out the work earlier this year.
The foyer’s 500lb chandeliers, carved by George Trott in 1959, were cleaned during the two-month renovation, which was completed within the allocated budget.
The contractors for the project were Renaissance Contracting and P & M Electric, and City employees carried out the painting.
Dwayne Caines, the chief executive of the corporation, commended the crews’ professionalism, work ethic and dedication to “preserving a piece of Bermuda’s architectural history”.
