UDP’s elite take the stage in modern dance show
United Dance Productions is to showcase a selection of its best dancers in a two-hour contemporary show at the end of the month.
Suzette Harvey, UDP’s founder and artistic director, said the presentation would feature advanced dancers selected from the school’s junior company, as well as alumni.
UDP’s last production of this calibre was in 2020, and Ms Harvey encouraged the community to come out in support.
The show will feature the work of local choreographers Carling Ray and Shanna Henry, while home-grown talent Eric Bean has contributed two new pieces.
Ms Harvey said: “Company calibre is higher and the choreography more intense. The level of performance will be way higher, the energy, the level of dance …
“It is more of a contemporary show where we are showing off everything.
“It features the best of our dancers and, more broadly, some of the best dancers in Bermuda.
“I am completely excited for Bermuda to see it. I hope they will come out to see the hard work that has been put in.”
There will be 45 company dancers and 15 alumni featured in approximately 15 performances.
The junior company showcase takes place on June 27, June 28 and June 30 at the Earl Cameron Theatre at City Hall, with performances running from 7pm to 9pm.
