KPMG’s service day makes a difference at WindReach
KPMG in Bermuda has donated more than $10,000 in services and materials to WindReach as part of its Make a Difference Day.
The audit, tax and advisory service firm selects a charity every year as part of the programme when all staff dedicate their day to giving back to the community.
At WindReach, approximately 100 KPMG staff members carried out jobs ranging from creating new access pathways for the charity’s clients to landscaping overgrown trails and clearing, organising and replenishing a workshop.
Included in the donation was $3,000 worth of new tools as well as a $5,000 cash donation.
Horsefield Landscape and Design also partnered with KPMG for the second year running to pitch in with landscaping.
WindReach is a fully accessible, four-acre facility in Warwick that includes a multi-purpose activity centre, an animal zone, a therapeutic riding centre and an accessible playground.
James Berry, the chief executive of KPMG, said: “We’re committed to making a positive impact in our community by supporting individuals with diverse support needs.”
A spokeswoman for WindReach added: ‘“The commitment and dedication that KPMG has shown to our facility through volunteerism and financial contributions is phenomenal, and we are beyond grateful.
“As a part of their Make a Difference Day, they helped with the beautification and maintenance of our ten-acre site. Tasks included pathway installation, organic waste management preparation, woodland reserve maintenance and fence-line maintenance.
“Team KPMG worked mechanically through all task areas and delivered far more than was expected. It was truly an amazing corporate community service day.”
