Bermuda motoring festival set to charge into Front Street
An annual motorcycle and car festival will introduce an aviation attraction to this year’s exhibition.
The sixth annual Scooter Mart Motor Fest, presented by Bermuda Charge, will showcase a tent manned by BermudAir, which will hold a paper plane competition in which the winner receives a return flight for two to any of the airline’s destinations.
The festival will start at 11.45am tomorrow with a 30-minute performance by the Warwick Gombeys.
Stunt enthusiasts would have a chance to show their skills afterwards during the Scooter Mart Top Rider Wheelie Contest.
The event, which takes place in the Action Arena, will award the winner with a Caberg Helmet.
There will also be a Paradise Mobile Speed Test at 1.30pm, where participants showcase their skills manoeuvring a figure-of-eight circuit on a mini-bike for the chance to win an iPhone 15.
The leisurely CG Slow Race will start at 4pm and see motorists ride 50 feet at the slowest possible speed without putting a foot down. The winner wins a full year of insurance from CG Insurance.
Children will also be treated to several free remote car and motorcycle games in No 1 Car Park.
“We surveyed our participants last year and there was a call for more rider entertainment,“ David Cahill, the event director, said.
“We’re incredibly excited about the new dimensions we’re adding to Scooter Mart Motor Fest this year.
“The Warwick Gombeys, aviation with BermudAir, the Paradise Mobile Speed Test, the Scooter Mart Top Rider Wheelie Contest and the return of the CG Slow Race are just a few of the ways we’re amplifying the excitement and creating an unforgettable experience for Bermuda.”
The event will be held along Front Street tomorrow and is free for spectators to attend.
Participant tickets are available from $39 at the Bermuda Charge website and Ptix. They can also be purchased with cash at Scooter Mart.
