A Bermudian footballer living in England has designed the kits for his football club.

Braintree Town FC owe their new uniforms for home and away to Reggie Lambe, 33, who joined the club at the start of last season and scored the winning goal in the play-off final to guide his team to promotion to the Vanarama National League, the fifth tier of English football.

According to the BBC, Mr Lambe said that he wanted to create an “elegant” kit that “stands out”.

He added: “The club’s happy with it and I’m pretty sure the fans will once they get it in their hands.”

Mr Lambe, who was interviewed for BBC Essex, told the radio show: “It was a lot of research seeing what other clubs’ kits looked like and just being able to make it fit in and also stand out a little bit.”

Mr Lambe is no stranger to fashion and design.

He previously designed the kits for Bermuda’s national team and other local football clubs.

During the pandemic, he launched Nineteen-Twentyfour, his clothing brand, which offers streetwear clothing, casual wear and football kits.

Despite his varied interests, Mr Lambe told the BBC that he had no intention of quitting football yet.

He joined Braintree Town in June 2023 after a promotional campaign with his former team, AFC Sudbury.

Specialising as an attacking midfielder, he made 41 appearances and scored two goals during the 2023-24 season.

In a recent interview with The Royal Gazette, Mr Lambe said that scoring the winning goal in the play-off final was the best moment of his career.

Last year, he also became the first Bermuda player to reach 50 international caps.
