A Bermudian genetics firm has gained top marks at the MedTech Investing Europe Forum in London, winning the event’s Best in Show award.

CariGenetics took part in the event, organised by Campden Wealth, last week, which brought together companies with potential investors.

“The forum programme addressed major challenges and opportunities in healthcare, life sciences, AI and digital health investment.”

Carika Weldon, a geneticist and the company’s founder and chief executive, highlighted CariGenetics as the “Caribbean real-world evidence and engagement platform.

Dr Weldon said: “Our platform is pivotal in advancing healthcare research, expanding therapeutic access and improving patient care in the Caribbean.

“Winning this competition highlights the importance of our work while solidifying our company as a viable investment opportunity from a global lens.”

Kevin Grant, the executive director of Campden Wealth, said: “The standard of technology and innovation on show at the 34th MedTech Investing Forum in London last week was breathtaking and augmented by the compelling plenary sessions from the NHS and Industry.
