Cup Match festivities will affect garbage collection in the City of Hamilton next week.

A spokeswoman for the City said that normal trash collection will take place for residents of the municipality on Wednesday, while the last collection for businesses and bars will take place at 5pm.

There will be no garbage collection on the Thursday and Friday Cup Match holiday, but trash collection will take place on Saturday for businesses, bars and restaurants only.

Normal garbage collection will resume for all on Monday, August 5.

The spokeswoman added: “All garbage should be placed on the sidewalks or designated garbage areas by the times indicated in the refuse collection schedule.

“Please do not place garbage out for collection unless a collection is scheduled for that day.

“Additionally, members of the public are advised that the administrative offices at City Hall and the Laffan Street Works Depot will be closing for the Cup Match holiday at 1pm on Wednesday, July 31, and will reopen on Monday, August 5.”
